Djeco Coloured Sands Birds of Paradise is a beautiful children’s sand art kit that makes a perfect craft gift for creative kids. This art by numbers kit for children contains four 15 by 21cm part pre-printed images of exotic feathered friends on very thick card and 12 pots of ready to apply coloured sand.

Keeping the image in the sturdy box, the protective paper is peeled away from the numbered areas in turn using the special tool provided and the sand sprinkled on top following the colour number key. The excess sand is shaken off and once done returned to its pot via the pouring hole in the box.

Beautifully illustrated, the completed Birds of Paradise will look delightful on any child’s wall or shelf and this makes a great alternative to traditional kids painting or drawing by numbers kits.

My friend bought the Djeco birds of paradise sand art kit for my 6 year old daughter. I thought it such a well designed item with the exception of the lids on the sand pots. They are incredibly hard to get off. Considering the rest of the item is superb I think the manufacturers should look at something better for the lid design or if there is a particular way to open the lids it should be described in the booklet. Not all lids are ludicrously hard to remove but the majority were.
