Easy rainy day craft activities

Sometimes (more often than not!) there are a few days in the summer holidays that can be a bit of a washout - it's always handy to have a few little craft activities to hand to keep those little ones occupied!!

Easy rainy day craft activities

On those rainy days of summer (there's bound to be a few when you live in the UK!) it can be tricky to keep kids occupied when it's miserable out there and they don't want to put wellies on and get outside. Here at Crafts4Kids we have a fab selection of little crafty projects to keep little ones busy even for a few minutes for you to enjoy that (hopefully!) hot cuppa! We've rounded up our top three crafty activities for kids to get creative with -

Of course one of our most popular activities is stickers - children adore stickers and Djeco have a fabulous range of stickers to suit all ages. Stickers can be used to make little artworks or decorate pictures, stationery and books as well as reusable stickers that can be used to tell different stories over and over again. My girls really enjoy Djeco's Create with stickers range where they get to make their own funny pictures and the only limit is their imagination!

Another fun activity is scratch art which can keep children absorbed for quite a while! Scratch Art is a firm favourite craft activity for children - using the special scraper tool kids can etch designs by revealing the coloured layer below. Sets from Melissa and Doug as well as Djeco offer the choice between rainbow colours, pink glitter, animals and even glow in the dark designs plus more intricate sets for older children.

Mosaic craft kits are brilliant because they produce brilliant and colourful results that can be displayed in a bedroom or nursery without making a lot of mess to clear up afterwards! The latest range from Djeco includes mosaic photo frames and make your own tiaras as well as the more traditional animal designs that kids love. My daughter absolutely loved making the Stained Glass Butterfly from Melissa and Doug and it still hangs on her window today, as colourful as when she made it last summer.

So hopefully there will be more days of sunshine and rain this summer holidays but there are always lots of crafty ideas at Crafts4Kids to help keep kids creative.
