The pallets of Djeco have made it through UK Customs in France - just needs to cross the water then make its way up the M1!

DELIVERIES FROM EU - UPDATE 19/01/2021

As we all knew, the ending of the transition period and new customs procedures has led to delays on deliveries from France.  We are still ordering weekly from Djeco and other European companies but we do not have control on how long it is now taking the transportation companies to bring the stock across the borders.  Compounding this, many drivers are reluctant to travel to the UK in case they get held up again due to Covid restrictions that could suddenly be put in place again.  Leading to the huge queues at ports we all saw before Christmas.

We hope these teething problems will settle down soon so please rest assured that we are ordering as normal and stock levels should be back to normal shortly.

NEW SAFETY MARKINGS - UPDATE 19/01/2021

The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is a new UK product marking that is now going to be used on toys, puzzles, games and arts and crafts kits.  It covers most items which previously required the CE marking.

Our suppliers from Europe (Djeco, Moulin Roty, Aquarellum, Stentosphere etc) will be phasing this in over the next year.

The technical requirements and the conformity assessment process and standards that can be used to demonstrate conformity are largely the same as they were for the CE marking.  So you can rest assured that while this is being phased in, that your favourite European brands will be ensuring that any item supplied to us will conform to both the CE mark and the new UKCA.

The UKCA marking came into effect on 1 January 2021. However, our Government is allowing companies to use the CE marking until 1 January 2022 so as stock is replenished with these companies you will start to see both logos.  The CE marking is only valid in Great Britain for areas where GB and EU rules remain the same. If the EU changes its rules this still may change.
