Charity Partner - The Grand Appeal

For 2026 our chosen charity is again The Grand Appeal.  Last year we raised £1,374.58! 

The Grand Appeal supports the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, striving to ensure the hospital has the latest in advanced medical equipment, giving every child the very best chance in life. 

The Grand Appeal's mission to support the children’s hospital in Bristol has stood the 30-year test of time. They have invested in -

• Family accommodation: they provide an extensive portfolio of free accommodation for families whose child is being treated at the children’s hospital
• Medical research: they invest in medical research programmes to ensure the hospital remains a hub of innovation, where everyday experts pave the way for sick children through a network of projects with international impact.
• Equipment: they fund state-of-the-art equipment to save lives.
• Music, play and art therapy: their music, play and arts programme can be seen in every ward at Bristol Children’s Hospital, helping young children to deal with the stresses and fears they may face during treatment.
• Art enhancements: they work to make sure Bristol Children’s Hospital provides a fun, stimulating and comforting space for the brave children it cares for.

Their next project will see the development of a new Patient Hotel, the first of its kind in the UK, for sick children which will be funded and operated by The Grand Appeal.

At the heart of their work are the incredible hospital staff whose dedication, expertise and compassion provide vital care and hope to the region’s sickest children and tiniest fighters. 

Why do we support The Grand Appeal?

We support the Grand Appeal because one of our family members benefitted from the incredible care and treatment at the BRHC during a prolonged hospital stay. As a family run business, this cause is incredibly close to our hearts. 

How do we support The Grand Appeal?

• 100% of the proceeds of our "Wonky Stock" is donated
• Ex-demo toys and games are donated to be used in the play areas for children and their visitors
• End of line or surplus stock is donated to be used as craft activities for children, birthday and Christmas presents and leaving presents. 
• Many of our lovely brands donate arts and crafts supplies too.  Big thank you to Dryad Education & Specialist Crafts who sent boxes of paints and arts & crafts materials to the hospital. 😊
