Amigurumi is a Japanese craft technique for crocheting or knitting small stuffed animals.

The word comes from Japanese:

• ami = knitted/crocheted
• nuigurumi = stuffed toy / plush doll

At first, amigurumi crochet patterns look complicated, here is what the abbreviations mean:

• sc = single crochet
• inc = increase (2 sc in one stitch)
• dec = decrease
• rnd = round
• sl st = slip stitch
• ch = chain
• ( ) x 6 = repeat 6 times
• [12] = total stitches at end of round

Example:

Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring → Make 6 single crochets into the ring
